Pastor Ronald Charles Joplin, is the youngest son of Robbie Arnold Griffin and Amos C. Joplin II, he is a native of Jackson Michigan, and is a product of the Jackson Public School system. Pastor Joplin is the spiritual son of the late Elder Non N. Walker, Founder and Senior Pastor of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ; it was there where his spiritual foundation was built.
In January 1980 he accepted Christ as his personal Lord & Savior at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor Non Walker. Two weeks later he received the Holy Ghost during a revival conducted by Pastor Isaac King. In mid 1981 during a vision, God called him into the Gospel Ministry.
In early 1982 through a series of visions God instructed him to move to Memphis, TN and joined the Pentecostal Temple Institutional C.O.G.I.C. where the Presiding Bishop, J.O. Patterson Sr. was the Senior Pastor. Pastor Joplin received his Minister’s license in June 1983. He served in many facets of church ministry as part of the Ministerial Staff at Pentecostal Temple. He completed a four-year ministerial curriculum in the School of the Prophets under the direction of Dean, Dr. Jesse Delano Ellis II. Upon completion he was recommended for Ordination to the office of Elder by his pastor, Bishop J.O. Patterson Sr. in August 1986.
Pentecostal Temple is also where he met and married his beautiful wife of over 21 years, Demetria Golden and to this union four lovely children were born, Karen, Jennifer, Indrea and Aaron. Pastor Ronald Joplin was lead by the unction of the Holy Ghost to raise all of his children to be musicians for the Glory of God.
Pastor Joplin attended Jackson Community College with a major in Social Work and Business Administration. He is currently employed by the State of Michigan as an Assistant Director.
He served as Associate Pastor at the Praise Temple C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor William C. Burks from 1988 to 1990. After the demise of Bishop J. O. Patterson Sr., in December, 1989, the Lord lead Pastor Joplin back to Michigan where he assisted Pastor B. T. Rimson and Pastor James Cooper at the First Church of God in Christ in Jackson. Then in 1995 God called out the Greater Light Temple Church of God in Christ according to our Founding Scripture, Isaiah 9:2, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” We have found this light to be the answer to broken hearts, broken homes, broken dreams, world's unrest and every human problem. So why would you despair and fling yourself out of life's back door? When all you have to do, is walk up, look up and live in the Greater Light, Jesus Christ, "the light of the world", John 9:5.
